Hi Jennifer! Great question – it can be hard to find the right clinic and a bit daunting. I would say that the best thing to do would be to maybe attend a few open evenings or webinars. Most clinics will provide these free of charge and it gives you a feel for the clinic and the staff working there. The other thing I would recommend is going on to the HFEA website and look at their ‘choose a fertility clinic’ page. This lets you compare clinics in terms of success rates and location. The link is https://www.hfea.gov.uk/choose-a-clinic/
Ultimately, you need to choose where you feel best supported and cared for. There are some very large, busy clinics where it may look and feel like there is a lot going on there. Equally, there are some smaller, bespoke clinics where the feel is more laid back – but both with generally give you the same results. Its about where you feel comfortable and don’t feel scared to ‘shop around’ as this is one of the most important journeys that you will go on and feeling comfortable (as much as possible) and well cared for can really contribute to the overall experience.
Hope that helps?
