Hi I’m about to start my first round of IVF around September time. I’m 30 and have unexplained infertility. Is there anything my husband and I can do to increase our chances? We take pre-natals and have a healthy lifestyle. I’ve cut out alcohol completely. I feel my biggest difficulty is keeping calm and positive. I’m scared it doesn’t work but also excited to start.

      Hi Laura,

Welcome! Ensuring that you are staying hydrated and eating well will help but also light exercise such as walking will help with preparing for the cycle both emotionally and physically. Sounds like you are doing all the right things to prepare for the treatment. You are not alone when it comes to find it tricky to stay calm – it can be very stressful and emotional when undergoing fertility treatment – things like journaling might help? But also talking and sharing – so please use this space as much as you need too 🙂

      Take care,

      Fran x
