Hello ladies, I’m currently on my 2 weeks .I’m 46 using donor eggs. I had 4 embryos transfered on Wednesday. 1 blastocyst and 3 morula. When I was pregnant with my son 15 years ago I didn’t experience any cramping. day 2 I had quite a bit of cramping and same today. Is this a sign my period is on its way. Any success stories with donor eggs would be helpful. Thanks

      Hi there,

Cramping is quite normal at this stage – it may be as a result of implantation. Are you taking progesterone? as that can also cause cramping.

4 embryos could also result in a multiple pregnancy and you might find that if embryos have been transferred at the morula stage, then implantation may be slightly delayed for as they are earlier embryos. Has your clinic provided guidance on multiple pregnancy and your next steps?

      Take care,

      Fran

      Hello Fran

Thanks for replying to my post. Yes I’m currently taking progesterone suppositories morning and evening. Actually on the day of transfer the embryologist suggested I transfer all 4 back because of my age. The clinic hasn’t provided any information regarding having multiples. Today is day 6 and I’m still having light cramping 😕.

Cramping sounds fairly normal to me – especially with the number of embryos transferred and the progesterone you are taking. See how you get on but if it gets too uncomfortable – then I would suggest taking some paracetamol.

I have added some info for you about multiple pregnancy – just in case you might find it useful. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the info on multiple pregnancy. cramping has stopped, what I am suffering from is constipation. The clinic said I can’t eat pineapple and pawpaw  two of my favourite fruits. I have a very active lifestyles I swim 5 days a week but now I can’t swim while I’m on my 2 weeks wait.
