Hello! I’m a single 42 yr old, done 2x IUIs and now in treatment for IVF (injection phase). I found this a little overwhelming and would love to be able to talk to someone going through the same – my family lives in another country and my friends just simply cannot relate… :(I’m also struggling to find someone picking me up after egg collection, apparently the clinic will need to hand me over to someone. It’s looking like this will be an uber driver…Are there any people here in a similar boat, or any meetups to chat etc? I’m London-based.Thank you!

FranKeymasterHi Chris,
Thank you for reaching out – please know that you are not alone and feeling like you are overwhelmed is completely normal. You are going through a process that is life changing and really takes its toll on you emotionally and physically.
Its normal for the clinic to ask for someone to escort you home as you will have had sedation. Is there anyone that will be around at home? Maybe a neighbour or a friend who might be able to be around when you arrive back? the Clinic will usually be happy to know that you have someone in the case of an emergency.
You might also find a support group helpful as well as the community here. Fertility Network UK host a number of support groups that you can join. fertilitynewtorkuk.org
Take care,
Fran x

Dear Fran,
Thank you for the kind words! I have managed to find a friend who is free and able to help me with collecting me after the procedure, so massive help there!
